A School Receptionist often acts as the first impression of a school, they must be friendly, warm and welcoming when assisting visitors, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries from parents and students.
The role involves scheduling appointments and keeping track of student attendance, coordinating with Teachers, as well as administrative tasks such as handling correspondence, managing records, and maintaining school supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by minimum two (2) years previous experience and/or training that includes secretarial or clerical work, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
Duties: * Provide administrative support to the Principal * Welcome visitors, provide them with necessary information and direct them to the appropriate person or location.
* Handle incoming phone calls, provide information, take messages and direct calls to the relevant staff members.
* Respond to inquiries from parents, students and the public, providing assistance and resolving issues whenever possible.
* Schedule appointments for students, parents and staff members, ensuring that calendars are organized and conflicts are minimized.
* Keep track of student attendance, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
They may also coordinate with teachers and administrators to follow up on absences and handle attendance-related matters.
* Assist with various administrative tasks, such as handling correspondence, filing documents, managing mail, and maintaining student records.
* Monitor visitors, implement visitor sign-in procedures and ensure the security of the school premises.
* Act as a liaison between students, parents, staff and administration, facilitating communication and ensuring smooth operations within the school.
* Handle sensitive information, such as student records and personal details which must maintain strict confidentiality.
* Manage school supplies, coordinate transportation arrangements, or assist with special events or projects.
* Assist in scheduling and coordinating parent-teacher conferences, ensuring that appointments are scheduled efficiently and providing necessary information to parents and teachers.
* Support the enrollment and registration process by providing information to prospective students and their families and collecting necessary documents.
* Order and maintain school supplies, such as stationery, forms, and other materials.
* Organize and support school events, such as assemblies, fundraisers, open houses, or parent information sessions.
* Establish a positive rapport with parents and students * Answer incoming calls * Compose and Distribute school weekly newsletter * Responsible for all reports and deadlines to maintain the school under compliance with the Department of Education and Corporate Tax Scholarships * Create School Calendar and Student Handbook yearly * General office duties; email, copying, faxing, mailing and filing * Assist the registrar with the student enrollment process \* Additional Duties may be assigned as needed * Knowledge of School management software a plus (Myschoolworx, square) * Bilingual a Plus Abilities: 1.
