*Aircraft Performance Intern:* VerdeGo Aero is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Aircraft Performance Intern to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will assist in the development and refinement of our innovative aerospace technologies, working closely with our experienced engineering team.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for aerospace engineering, a strong desire to learn, and excellent problem-solving skills.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to exciting projects in a collaborative environment.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*: As an Aircraft Performance Intern at VerdeGo Aero, you will have the opportunity to assist in analyzing the performance of multiple aircraft configurations equipped with VerdeGo's hybrid powerplants, ensuring optimal integration and performance compatibility with the aircraft.
This includes conducting feasibility studies, performance simulations, and conceptual design iterations to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of hybrid-electric propulsion in various aircraft platforms.
Additional tasks will include: * Conduct performance analysis of aircraft systems using computational tools and simulation software.
* Assist in the design and optimization of aircraft components and systems to improve performance metrics such as payload, speed, range, and fuel efficiency.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and refine performance models for new and existing aircraft designs.
* Contribute to the development of performance specifications and requirements for aircraft systems and subsystems.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review and discuss performance-related issues and potential solutions.
* Support the integration and simulation of new technologies and modifications to improve aircraft performance.
* Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to aircraft performance analysis.
* Support other engineering tasks and projects as needed to contribute to team goals and objectives.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* * Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong academic background with coursework or specialization in aircraft/rotorcraft aerodynamics, propulsion systems, performance, aeroacoustics, or similar disciplines.
* Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis and modeling.
* Previous internships, co-op experiences, or projects related to aerospace engineering, aircraft design, or performance analysis are desirable.
* Knowledge of hybrid-electric propulsion systems and their application in aircraft design and performance optimization is a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present technical information to colleagues and stakeholders.
* Enthusiasm for aerospace technology and a passion for contributing to the advancement of sustainable aviation solutions.
* Proficiency in technical writing, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports, documentation, and presentations related to aircraft performance analysis, design, and testing.
* Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.
