Database Administrator (DBA) and Systems Integrations Specialist

Job Summary: Responsible for working and maintaining cloud hosted databases and their integration with databases on premises.
Developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations, internal and external API, file transfer, and EDI and SQL queries.
This position provides technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems that support institutional business applications.
Additional responsibilities include reporting, data input and output, end-user training and support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extraction.
Builds custom databases, tables, writes stored procedures, triggers, and permissions
Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.
Develops database utilities and automated reporting.
Recognize automation opportunities and understand common network protocols, database structures and scripting.
Designs advanced SQL queries, scripts, cursors, stored procedures, triggers
Optimizes and improves SQL code for better performance
Understands Full Development Life Cycle & RDBMS
Assists business analysts and end-users with reporting needs
Prepares and updates technical documentation
Create accounts for all users and assign security levels
Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices.
Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
Manage, plan, develop, and provide technical oversight for software integration between internal core business systems as well as integration with external software systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of SQL 2016 or higher database design standards, including the use of Indexes and triggers
Good understanding of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) programming
Ability to code programs under ODBC and stored procedures
Ability to resolve complex data problems by applying technical solutions
Strong analytical skills
Ability to provide excellent customer service to all end users.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to adapt to varied roles and job responsibilities and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a collaborative environment.
Credentials and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
Minimum 3- 5 years of database administration experience in an appropriate technical environment.
Advanced Microsoft SQL Server knowledge (to include advanced querying in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, SSIS, import and export capabilities)
Shell scripting skills desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skill
Ability to work effectively independently, in a team, and with clients
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in the education field specifically colleges and universities
Experience with Jenzabar ERP
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
