JOB SUMMARY
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a summer semester intern to support the Information Technology department.
The IT Intern will be responsible for supporting our software development and IT team in all aspects of development, testing, and implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply computer science and information technology skills in both individual contributions and team efforts.
Learn to design, develop, and support business-grade software in support of a world-class organization.
This includes both composing original software contributions as well as working with senior technical resources to augment and enhance existing applications.
Assist with software delivery and quality control/QA processes, including build/release management, creating unit tests, UI tests, test plans, test cases, load tests, process enhancements, and other quality control artifacts.
Gain experience and confidence with the software development lifecycle in an enterprise setting by working with the IT group to help execute all the various activities that comprise successful software development.
Solve a variety of important business problems using both industry-standard methods and techniques, as well as emerging and cutting-edge technological solutions.
Towards this endeavor, you will receive personal mentoring and valuable hands-on experience with leading technical experts.
KOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including basic familiarity with software engineering methods and practices, as well as application lifecycle management.
Knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques, algorithms and algorithmic analysis, and software testing techniques.
Skilled in using web programming, some combination of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap UI, YUI, or other JavaScript frameworks.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to be proactive, have excellent organizational skills, and perform efficiently.
Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform work in new areas.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited College or University.
Progress toward a degree, major, or minor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Minimum 2.
5 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
