Job Title: Network Security Specialist
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Network Security Specialist to join our team.
The Network Security Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in network security technologies and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.
Responsibilities:
Network Security Architecture:
Design and implement network security architecture, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and secure access controls.
Ensure that network security solutions are properly configured, monitored, and maintained to protect against unauthorized access and malicious activities.
Security Policy and Compliance:
Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security policies.
Threat Detection and Response:
Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents and breaches.
Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and implement remediation actions to mitigate security risks.
Vulnerability Management:
Perform vulnerability scans and assessments to identify weaknesses in network infrastructure, applications, and systems.
Prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities based on risk assessment and severity levels.
Incident Response and Forensics:
Develop incident response procedures and protocols to effectively respond to and contain security incidents and breaches.
Preserve evidence, conduct digital forensics investigations, and collaborate with law enforcement or external security agencies as needed.
Security Awareness and Training:
Provide training and guidance to network administrators and IT staff on security best practices, threat detection, and incident response procedures.
Promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance throughout the organization.
Security Tool Evaluation and Deployment:
Evaluate, select, and deploy new security tools, technologies, and solutions to enhance network security capabilities.
Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to proactively address potential risks.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain documentation of network security configurations, policies, procedures, and incident response activities.
Generate regular reports and metrics on network security performance, incidents, and trends for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Network Defender (CND) preferred.
Proven experience (X years) in network security, information security, or related roles.
Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing and switching, and network security principles.
Hands-on experience with network security technologies and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM platforms.
Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements (e.

, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex network security issues and develop effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
