What are we seeking? We are seeking one, result oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to increase productivity and reduce operations cost through the reengineering of the manufacturing process.
This role is in Edgewater, FL.
Time commitment: The hours for this position will be flexible based on the candidate’s class schedule, however, may require up to 40 hours of work with minimum 20 hours per week (Monday – Thursday).
Must be able to arrive before 6AM to observe some processes.
This will be a 16-week role, with the opportunity to extend the internship further upon need and performance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Analyzing manufacturing processes using engineering tools and techniques.
Conducting different industrial engineering studies and analysis such as manpower forecasts, capacity analysis, resource leveling, etc.
Assisting in the implementation and utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Studying and analyzing variation in critical manufacturing processes.
Maintain documentation on related studies and analysis.
Performing related assignments as required.
3D-Modeling of plant layout to be used to assist in building layouts.

Basic Qualifications (Please list major, class standing, specific software, tools, other experiences necessary for internship): Minimum of 2 years towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
Basic Lean Six Sigma knowledge Experience utilizing engineering tools and methods in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, MS Project.
Strong communication, people skills and ability to work independently on assigned tasks within a quick-paced, fiberglass / resin environment.
Preferred Qualifications ( Please list the extras that would make a candidate really standout): Desired coursework completed in Statistics, Work Measurement and Design, and Quality Engineering.
