We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Coordinator to join our team.
As an MDS Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, medical coding, and patient care standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in critical care, managed care, and hospital settings.
- Coordinate and oversee the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for all residents
- Ensure accurate and timely coding of diagnoses, procedures, and treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather information for MDS assessments
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial needs
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to MDS assessments
- Provide education and training to staff on MDS documentation requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MDS Coordinator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of clinical documentation improvement principles and practices
- Proficient in medical coding systems and guidelines
- Familiarity with patient care standards and regulations
- Experience in critical care, managed care, or hospital settings preferred
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems such as Cerner or Epic is a plus
