International Academy, a leader of education in the beauty and wellness industries, has over 40 years of experience preparing students with the foundational skills necessary to become licensed and employed in their chosen field.
In the area of beauty (or image) students may choose from programs such as: cosmetology, barber, nail technology, skin, and make up.
Wellness training may be obtained through the study of the skin and various full body treatments associated with it, and through the therapeutic application of massage therapy.
Projected job growth in the industry is forecasted to expand for the next 10 years in the double digit range.
Currently, we have an opening for a passionate and dynamic educator in our Nail Program.
This position will consist of four nights per week.
The following list is intended as an overview of the key responsibilities of the position, and is by no means all inclusive.
· Lecture and present textbook content in a manner which engages the students
· Proctor and grade tests and exams, including hands-on exams
· Provide demonstrations of professional nail services such as: tips with overlays, sculptured nails, dip system acrylic nails, gel polish application and removal techniques, manicures and pedicures, nail art and polish application to include French manicure and pedicure
· Counsel and provide direction to students that assures their program completion
· Share relevant professional in-salon or spa experiences
· Develop student soft skills
· Instill the importance of proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization techniques in the workplace by example
· Manage and lead field trips within the community
Qualified applicants will have a current Florida Nail Technologist or Cosmetology license and be in good standing with the _Department of Business and Professional Regulation_.
International Academy requires a minimum of 4 years of professional, in-salon or spa experience with nails.
Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not necessary.
